Job Description

Convention Services Manager Help us turn the vision into an exceptional guest experience. The Sonesta Gwinnett Place Atlanta is entering an exciting new chapter as we prepare for our transition to Hyatt Regency. We are looking for an organized, relationship-driven Convention Services Manager who is passionate about creating exceptional events and understands that the details make all the difference. As a Convention Services Manager, you will be the primary point of contact for clients once their business is booked, guiding them through the planning process and bringing their vision to life. You’ll work closely with Sales, Catering, Food & Beverage, Front Office, Housekeeping, Engineering, and other hotel departments to ensure every commitment made during the sales process is delivered seamlessly. This is an opportunity to join our team during a significant hotel transformation and help establish the service standards, client relationships, and event experiences that will define our future as a Hyatt Regency. What You’ll Be Doing

  • Build strong, trusted relationships with meeting planners, corporate clients, social groups, and other event contacts throughout the planning and execution process.
  • Serve as the primary client liaison from turnover through departure, ensuring clear communication and consistent follow-through.
  • Lead the planning and execution of meetings, conferences, conventions, weddings, and other group events while anticipating client needs and identifying potential challenges before they become issues.
  • Conduct detailed pre-planning conversations and meetings to understand event goals, timelines, expectations, and special requirements.
  • Create and maintain accurate BEOs, group resumes, event timelines, and other operational documents.
  • Conduct pre-con and planning meetings and communicate client expectations clearly to all hotel departments.
  • Partner closely with Sales and Catering to ensure a seamless transition from contracting to planning, execution, and post-event follow-up.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance the guest experience while generating incremental revenue through upgrades, amenities, food and beverage enhancements, meeting room requirements, and other value-added services.
  • Monitor event details, changes, deadlines, and financial commitments to ensure the hotel delivers what was promised while protecting revenue and profitability.
  • Be present and visible during key events, providing proactive support and resolving issues quickly and professionally.
  • Collaborate with hotel leadership and operating departments to ensure successful execution and exceptional guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate records and follow established processes and systems throughout the event lifecycle.
Education & Experience Hotel experience is always a plus! Applicants should have:
  • A college degree or two years of hotel experience
  • Previous experience in a similar or related position
Additional consideration will be given to applicants who have completed special certifications. What You’ll Need to Succeed
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, kneel, and lift as required—with or without reasonable accommodations
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays if needed
